April is Oral Health Month. One of its many objectives is to raise awareness among patients across Quebec. This is therefore the perfect time to remind you of the critical importance of taking care of your oral health by adopting healthy habits.
Oral health month, new awareness campaign
Oral Health Month is especially important this year. The Ordre des dentistes du Québec has launched a new awareness campaign called “Votre bouche en dit long sur votresanté” (your mouth speaks volumes about your health). This initiative aims to raise public awareness of the impacts of oral health on general health.
Centre Dentaire Dre Nathalie Kadoch is proud to join the Ordre in highlighting the connection between your mouth and your health.
The door to your respiratory and cardiovascular system
Did you know that oral diseases can affect cardiovascular and respiratory health? In fact, problems such as periodontitis are associated with an increased risk of heart attack. Furthermore, bacteria spreading from the mouth into the respiratory tract can lead to respiratory problems. Milder problems such as plaque and tartar buildup can also have an impact on your health.
Identifying and treating oral health problems quickly isn’t just a question of good or bad breath. It is first and foremost about overall well-being! Dental examinations help us identify various health problems, such as cavities, gingivitis, periodontitis as well as the presence of oral cancer.
This Oral Health Month, we encourage you to take charge of your health.
