Your dental cleaning & examination

You’ve probably already been told multiple times that you should visit your dentist regularly. And yet, some people often fail to do so, thinking: “I have good oral hygiene and no symptoms, so what’s the point?”

Removing tartar. It’s important to know that daily brushing alone isn’t enough to remove all the plaque that builds up on your teeth. Moreover, it’s impossible to remove tartar without specialized instruments!

Since tartar causes many dental and gum diseases, regular cleaning at your dentist is an essential preventive measure. The process includes descaling and polishing, with the second step not only making your teeth smoother and whiter, but also increasing the adhesion of the gums to your teeth, which helps support them.

During your visit, the dentist will examine your mouth to make sure that everything is fine or, on the contrary, to detect problems at an early stage. Often, your dentist will also take X-rays, which can detect smaller cavities and internal conditions.

Sometimes you may not feel any symptoms, but cavities or gum disease can develop without warning. Minor treatment as soon as they appear will be less complex and costly, and will certainly spare you pain or discomfort.

Even if you don’t notice any symptoms, regular visits to your dentist will help keep your teeth healthy. It’s generally recommended to schedule an appointment every six months, but depending on your oral and general health condition, this may be more or less frequent. In some cases, an annual visit may be enough, as recommended by your dentist.
