Dental implants are the ideal tooth replacement option, whether you are missing one or more teeth. The procedure is done in 2 steps. First, we place the dental implant, a screw that replaces the root of your tooth. This procedure is done under local anesthesia and the recovery time is very fast. We must let it heal for 2 to 4 months before placing the final crown on this screw. For aesthetics, we can place a temporary crown until implant has healed. One of the advantages of dental implants is that the adjacent teeth are not affected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental implants could last from a few decades to a lifetime if well-taken care of. The gum and the bone surrounding the implant have to stay healthy. Proper oral hygiene and routine visits to your dentist are a must.

The surgery usually lasts 1 hour and is done under local anesthesia. Patients can usually go back to their daily routine the following day.

Smoking inhibits the healing of the gum and the jawbone. We ask our patients not to smoke prior to and after the surgery to prevent any complications.
