Dry the Bristles Thoroughly

Your toothbrush is one of the last things you’ll pack before you head out. After all, you didn’t plan for morning breath to hitch a ride on your adventure.

This is one of the biggest mistakes people make, however. If you don’t dry your toothbrush thoroughly, damp bristles can become breeding ground for bacteria.

If that sounds gross, you’re completely correct! You may not be able to see anything yucky on your brush, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there!

If you insist on taking your current toothbrush on vacation with you, it’s imperative to avoid putting it in a plastic case or bag until it’s 100% dry.

2. Stash Brand New Brushes in Your Bag

Avoiding the last-minute packing chaos is a lot easier if you’re already ready to go. Instead of hoping your toothbrush will enter the speed-dry cycle on your bathroom sink, stow some brand new brushes in your bag ahead of time.

This way, you can grab your bag and dash out the door without worrying about bacteria crashing the party. When the fun is done, simply toss your toothbrushes in the hotel. Added bonus: you’ll have a little more room for souvenirs!

3. Buy a Toothbrush When You Get Where You’re Going

You’re not likely going anywhere that doesn’t have a convenience store or gift shop within a reasonable vicinity. Even if the toothbrushes you get at your hotel aren’t exactly ideal, they’re far better than the bacteria-infested options you may have otherwise brought with you!

4. Pack Disposable Brushes

The easiest way to avoid the brush conundrum is to use disposable brushes. These little miracles offer two-in-one brushing and flossing solutions and come complete with built-in toothpaste. They’re great for on-the-go freshening-up!

Before you settle into the awesome Ontario summer weather that’s on its way, be sure to schedule a regular cleaning with your dentist. A healthy mouth will help keep you on the road to many more fun adventures in the future!

If you’re looking for a dentist in the Lasalle area, you’re in luck! Centre Dentaire is happily accepting new patients. Schedule your consultation with us today!

Verdun is a wonderful place to live, but everybody needs to get away for a little while. If you’re heading out of town for an excursion, heed these toothbrush tips to ensure you’re smiling your brightest in those vacation selfies! 1.
